TO CLUSTER OR NOT TO CLUSTER
First of all – what is clustering? Clustering is when you take a group of similar inventory and load them onto the channels as one unit type within a listing. The algorithms of the hotel-style OTA’s such a Booking.com and Expedia love these sorts of listings because they perform better than individual home listings.

The other way to Cluster units is to put all product types under one brand with the inventory being either grouped together or displayed as an individual listing all under that brand.

Sounds simple, right? 
 
To date, we have not found a Property Management System with the ability to cluster units on Booking.com or Expedia without running into overbooking or resulting in the Property Manager having to play Tetris in the tape chart of the PMS to find an open unit. Many Property Managers have tried, but we haven't seen anyone accomplish this in an automated manner and if there is not a unit actually available for the entire date period, they get an overbooking.
 
We call our ability to not overbook Unit Type Guarantee. ​Our algorithm only books if there is actually a unit available.
