Lexicon Travel’s President and Co-Founder, Hal Widlansky is an “adventure capitalist” at heart who loves a challenge. Whatever industry he has taken on, he has made a career of solving interesting business problems with technology. It’s that fast-paced, ever changing need that drives him; the careful relationship building and never-ending moving parts of building a business that spark his interest. In his interesting and impressive 20+ year career, he has had success in media, telecom and healthcare, yet he’s focused his boardroom passion more recently, having spent the last three years focused on leisure travel technology. Some of his career highlights have included senior and executive roles in operations, marketing, and business development for several technology start-ups, including Ticketmaster-CitySearch, which had a successful IPO.
There isn’t much Hal is afraid to learn. After attending Michigan State University, he continued on to the university’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and then went on to work toward a Masters in media and information technology. When he is not jet-setting from sea to shining sea (for work), Hal is an avid snowboarder and also plays guitar (two things he has learned in the last decade). He believes you are never too old to learn new things and is always finding ways to challenge himself. He is not planning to turn 50 before mastering scuba diving….and did we mention he can juggle? Hal lives with his daughter in Salt Lake City.
