Do Promotions on OTAs Pay off?

The short answer: YES!

Myth: Running promotions erode rates, occupancy, and revenues. 

Fact: When done strategically with specific goals in mind, promotions on the OTA channels can have a tremendously positive impact on business. Travelers of all stripes shop for vacation rentals on the OTAs. Creating offers that speak directly to their individual needs while also protecting the needs of the property can give your business the bump you've been looking for.

GOALS & TACTICS:

Goal: Drive length of stay.
Tactic Used: The market averages 3 nights, so we pushed out 4- and 5-night deals resulting in longer stays. 

Goal: Generate more weekday (Sunday through Thursday) business.
Tactic Used: We offered deals and incentives to force dates of stay.

Goal: Backfill last minute cancelations.
Tactic Used: We offered a deal to entice last-minute shoppers.
